Hi!

I'm an Art Director and Game Artist from Munich and I love to create colorful worlds.

Early on I was drawn into games because of their atmosphere, stories and imaginary worlds. After finishing my Bachelor of Science in Game Design in Munich, I was part of the founding team for Klonk Games. Since at the time we were all new at this, it was learning by doing and I grew from a general game artist into managing and directing the art department. It's my jam to find stylish and creative solutions, while still keeping an eye on the reality of things like time, budget and available skill.

Having worked with non-game clients and other teams, I'm no stranger to communicating and documenting the creative and artistic vision of the team for either pitches or presentations.

SKILLS

  • Defining and refining visual styles and pipelines, taking budget, skills and other constraints into account

  • Coordinating and communicating between departments

  • Modelling and texturing stylized 3D assets, mostly props and environments

  • Creating stylized textures with a big emphasis on hand-painted textures

  • Basic skills in rigging, skinning and animation

  • Drawing everything from concept scribbles to production-ready 2D assets

  • Creating pitch decks, presentations and visually pleasing documents

SOFTWARE

As a seasoned artist, many tools are part of my process. I am familiar with the following tools, ordered by proficiency and frequency of use. Since many of them offer a multitude of functions, some detail on usage was added.

Unity3D: Integration of assets, scene management, Lightbaking, User Interface, Animation System, Material set-up

Adobe Photoshop: Texture Painting, Interface Design, Export Pipeline

Blender: Modelling, Unwrapping, Texturing, Basic Animation

Paint Tool SAI: Concept Art, Sketching, Rendering

InDesign: Layouting, managing large Documents

Office: Word/PowerPoint for documents and presentation

Since most of my projects are colorful and have a stylized look, the main pipeline usually did not include high-poly modelling or realistic textures. The following software I learned at university and I gained some additional understanding from using it outside of my regular work:

zBrush

Substance Painter

Autodesk Maya

Cinema 4D
