Project Description
“Abenteuer Silbeninsel” is a learning app that supports early reading skills through structured, syllable-based exercises. It is based on a research project by the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and included more than 20 games with different difficulty levels as well as a diagnostic tool to assess learning progress.
Our task was to visually rework the existing games, improve usability, and integrate the app into the established Meister Cody game world. Since the project had a tight schedule, I had to carefully balance adding new elements such as animations and more rewarding gameplay with limited resources. This often meant making thoughtful design decisions and adapting assets from other projects where appropriate.
I was responsible for all graphic assets and animations and most of the UI design. Screen design, game flow and interaction concepts were developed in close collaboration with a colleague.
In addition, my work included project planning, coordination with the research team, and overall visual quality control. I also created the logo, app icon, and store assets.
